-1/2 avocado with olive oil, chili, cumin and sea salt
- organic greek yogurt
- green juice
- smoothie ( if you are out in the world, a small smoothie) ( could be something so simple, almond or coconut milk with protein powder, cinnamon and a dash or grade B maple syrup)
- avocado and brown rice sushi
- kale chips
- a cup of soup preferably something with protein like lentil
Try to prepare some things at home and bring them to work. Or allow yourself a bit more time in the morning to grab some things on the way to work. Be prepared so you are not starving.
A lot of people ask about nuts. I am crazy for nuts! Especially if they are organic and sprouted. We only omit them because sometimes when folks are cutting out sugar and other things they can go nut crazy and eat a whole bag of almonds or cashews. I have seen people eat their entire daily caloric intake in nuts! If you are not one of these people ( KNOW THYSELF) then by all means grab something like a rawbar. ( you can find at organic avenue or your yoga studio or buy online).

GOOD MORNING
Breakfast seems to be the hardest meal for most of you.
Great places for to go breakfast in nyc are...
The Juice Press- they have great smoothies and raw oatmeal and chia seed pudding. They also deliver.
Any corner store- grab a greek yogurt preferably organic.
Whole foods- for yogurt, oatmeal, green juice.
If you have time to make breakfast at home invest in some great food to make breakfast smoothies. And buy a vitamix! IT WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE!
LOU'S ENERGY SMOOTHIE
- Unsweetened almond milk
- Raw hemp protein powder
- Greens powder. Vital Mineral Green is our favourite but there are many great ones you can get at your health food store or at whole foods. Just make sure it isn't only grasses and has veggies in there too.
- Frozen acai
- Frozen berries ( 1/4-1/2 a cup)
- Maca powder ( optional!) ( great for energy and is an adaptogen)
- You can add a dash of grade B maple syrup or stevia for sweetness if you need.
We also add probiotics and immunity tonic this time of year.

WINTER LOVEHEAL
Many people have been reaching out to me asking for a new loveheal. Winter is tough, even really warm ones. We are in between holidays and our bikini. We are tired. It is still dark in the evening. Perhaps we have attempted to jump out of a recent habit... drinking every evening, late night cookies, only muffins for breakfast, days in a row with out exercising or whatever it may be. Well now is your moment. Get your lover or bff on board. Let's get ourselves lovehealtrim for Spring.
Usually we start loveheal with a bit of a cleansing diet. At this time we are going to start back to front. We will spend some time eating better and exercising more and working towards a cleanse.
So to begin, please look at your calendars and over the next 7 day period, pick 5 days that you will exercise. Wake up earlier, run before you take your kids to school or go to work. Go to the gym at lunch or go to evening yoga. Do an exercise dvd with your spouse or friend late at night. It would be great if you could do an hour but 30 minutes will suffice.
For the next 5 days...
NO WHEAT OR WHITE FLOUR OF ANY KIND
NO BREAD
NO PROCESSED FOOD ( THIS MEANS NO PASTA OR WHITE RICE OR ANYTHING THAT HAS GONE THROUGH ANY STATE CHANGE)
NO CHEESE
NO SUGAR (EXCEPTION CAN BE BERRIES IN YOUR SMOOTHIE OR YOGURT
NO BOOZE
NO BAKED GOODS ( THIS GOES ALONG WITH PROCESSED FOODS)
NO DRINKS OTHER THAN COFFEE, TEA, WATER ( THIS MEANS NO LATTES, JUST PLAIN COFFEE)
NO NUTS( just for 5 days!)
EVERYDAY BEGINS WITH JUICE OF 1/2 OR WHOLE LEMON WITH HOT WATER
THEN BREAKFAST WITHIN 20 MINUTES OF WAKING.
BREAKFAST IDEAS...
A smoothie with hemp protein, greens powder or kale, almond milk, berries, flax seeds or chia seeds... you can also add probiotics, fish oil etc. if you take these supplements to your morning smoothie.

Raw oatmeal
Brown rice with berrries and seeds
EAT MORE VEGGIES THAN YOU HAVE BEEN.
TRY TO EAT VEGETABLES WITH EVERY MEAL ( EVEN SNACK!)
DRINK GREEN JUICE
DRINK 3 LITERS OF WATER A DAY
REPLACE ONE OF YOUR COFFEES WITH GREEN TEA
BE KIND TO THE PERSON WHO IS GIVING YOU THE MOST TROUBLE
